*This is an progression only course. There is no direct entry without first completing a relevant Level 1 Qualification, such as Level 1 Plumbing or Level 1 Electrical.

Do you enjoy figuring out how things work, and fixing appliances when they break?

A career in refrigeration, air conditioning & heat pump systems is fun, challenging, and rewarding. You will install, trouble shoot and repair complex systems that are essential across many buildings such as homes, businesses, hospitals and more.

This course will teach you vital skills for your future career, including safe working practices, installations and maintenance on refrigeration, heat pumps and air conditioning systems, and electrical work on RAC components.

You’ll also benefit from trips, guest speakers, and a work placement to give you real experience in your future workplace.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

You will need a relevant Level 1 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths grades 4-9, or equivalent.

This Could Lead to

Upon successful completion of this Level 2 course, you may be able to progress to our T Level Building Services Engineering (Air Conditioning) or T Level Building Services Engineering (Plumbing) to advance your skills.

Alternatively, you can go into an apprenticeship or entry level work in the industry.
