The Course in Detail

GCSE English is designed to further improve and enhance your personal skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. This qualification is essential for anyone who has not yet achieved GCSE English at grade 4/C or above.

GCSE English Language is designed to develop and enhance your personal skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, and to encourage you to be inspired, moved and changed by following a broad, coherent, satisfying and worthwhile course of study. It will prepare you to make informed decisions about further learning opportunities and career choices and to use language to participate effectively in society and employment.

This course is only available to applicants aged 19+ as at 1st September.

Note – this GCSE English course is free if you have not already achieved this qualification at grade 4/C or above.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

Evidence of grade 3/D in GCSE English or equivalent will be required. Prior to enrolment, you will be assessed as to your suitability for the course and level.

This Could Lead to

Achievement of GCSE English at grade 4 or above will open the doors to many
courses and career opportunities, as it is generally the minimum entry requirement for most job interviews and further education courses.
