This introductory qualification is perfect if you have had no previous experience of using counselling skills. This course may appeal to a number of professionals who wish to enhance their listening and communication skills as well as those who are considering embarking on formal counselling training as an intended career change by studying the SEG Level 3 Counselling Skills course in the future, before studying on a Counselling Degree/Diploma programme (at Level 4, 5 & 6).
The Level 2 Award and Certificate in Counselling Skills qualification, awarded by Skills Education Group (SEG), covers the following four topics:

There are no formal entry requirements, but you will need to complete an online questionnaire prior to enrolment.
You should be aware that the course involves experiential learning and self-awareness exercises, which will be demanding of the self in interaction with others.

Upon successful completion of this Level 2 course, you can progress to the SEG Level 3 Counselling Skills qualification which aims to give the opportunity to develop a range of counselling skills and skills in self-awareness and self-assessment. This will lead to an overall improved performance of those who use counselling skills and prepare you to begin studying for your Degree/Diploma and become a fully qualified counsellor.
