The Course in Detail

If you enjoy working with people, you have strong attention to detail and you’re passionate about hair, then you’re likely to enjoy a career in barbering.
 
In this course, you’ll learn to wash, cut and shave men’s hair and facial hair. You’ll train in our fully equipped barbering salon, consulting and working with real paying clients.
 
Barbering is a valuable skill that will always be needed and can take you anywhere in the world, from working in media, fashion and other creative industries, to travelling with cruise ships, or running your own salon. We’ll provide you with trips, guest speakers, industry competitions and work experience to help you succeed in your future career.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

You will need four GCSEs at grades 3-9, or equivalent (including English and maths. Science is also preferred)
 
OR
 
Relevant Level 1 qualification (merit or distinction grade) including GCSE English and maths grades 3-9, or equivalent.

This Could Lead to

Upon successful completion of this Level 2 course, you may be able to progress into an apprenticeship or entry level employment in the barbering industry. You can work in commercial barbers, spas, hotel chains or on cruise ships.
