The Course in Detail

As a beginner, you will be taught some basic techniques for jewellery making.  You will learn the foundation techniques of jewellery-making including different types of beads, jump rings, eye and head pins, types of stringing cord and wire, attaching clasps and using crimps. Potential projects during the course could be:
Work with memory wire to create bracelets and rings
Learn wire-wrapping techniques to make a beautiful gemstone pendant
Use seed beads and wire to make a flower design, to become a pendant or brooch
Customising, painting and setting glass cabochons to create your own unique pendants
Making your own beads using polymer clay

Relevant techniques will be demonstrated both individually and as a group and you will be fully supported by your tutor as you learn.

A College Certificate is awarded on request.
